About the Program

Spectra’s Summer Program, City Surfers, is founded on the "Dream big" value. This ABA-based program transitions our learners out of the comfort of their homes, schools, and our own clinic and into the community where skills are applied to new adventures with peers. Weekly schedules include activities such as swimming, visits to parks, museums, and other outings, such as the zoo and aquarium. With the support of trained one-on-one Therapeutic Instructors in a naturalistic setting, children have the opportunity to work on skills such as transitioning, time management, meals, shopping and money, communication and social skills, and general community safety. Upon enrolling in the program, an assessment, including vital parent input, is completed for each child so that an individualized treatment plan may be created to guide therapeutic goals and timelines. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will complete the assessment and a team of Therapeutic Instructors (TIs) will provide treatment services.
